The company that invented the metal driver
Gary Adams founded TaylorMade in 1979 and pioneered the metalwood, the ancestor of every modern driver. Based in Carlsbad, California, it is one of golf’s biggest names, and Tiger Woods has played TaylorMade clubs since signing with the brand in 2017.
Qi4D and Qi35
TaylorMade’s newest driver is the Qi4D, at stores since January 29, 2026, for $649.99. The Qi35 family from 2025 came in Qi35, Max, LS and Max Lite versions, with a carbon face and, on the Max, a very forgiving 10,000 MOI design; it now sells for about $450 on Amazon.
On tour, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy both won majors with the Qi10, the model before the Qi35.
Price and who it’s for
From about $450 for a Qi35 to $649.99 for the Qi4D. It’s for golfers who want more distance and forgiveness off the tee.
